Right after making each cut, blend the joining - press gently and smooth (circular moves). That way you will soften the paste and remove the seam (or at least make it less visible). If you don’t smooth the seam right after making the cut, the paste will become dry and it will be impossible to remove the seam. 
  • The more sugarpaste (fondant) in the mix, the easier it is to remove the seams, but also easier to make indentations. 
  • The more flower paste (gum paste) in the mix, the harder it is to remove the seams and harder to make indentations. 

Don’t roll the balloon between your hands in order to smooth it or round it, because you will end up with thicker and thinner areas (the balloon will lose the shape).
