COOKIES

Cookies are small files sent from a server to your web browser that contain information about browsing activity. They are stored within your web browser.

Types of cookies we use:

  • Session cookies are specific to a particular visit. They carry information as you view different pages so you don’t have to re-enter information every time you change pages. Session cookies are erased when you leave the site or close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies remember certain information about your preferences for using the site. They allow the site to recognise you each time you return. Persistent cookies are stored within your web browser until you choose to delete them or until they expire.
  • First-party cookies are cookies created by our site. We use first party cookies to help identify and resolve errors on the website, improve your shopping experience and remember you and what was in your shopping cart when you visit us again.
  • Third-party cookies are cookies added by a domain that is not the domain you are currently visiting. The most common use of third-party cookies is to track users who click on advertisements and associate them with the referring domain. For example, when you click on an ad on a website, a third-party cookie is used to associate your traffic with the site where the ad appeared.

OTHER TECHNOLOGIES

Functions usually performed by a cookie can be achieved by other means.

We use:

  • HTML5 local storage - This stores data with no expiration date. The data in local storage would persist even when the user’s browser is closed and reopened.
  • HTML5 session storage - This is similar to local storage, except that it stores data for one session only. Once the user’s browser is closed, that session would be lost and the persisted data will be deleted from the browser
  • UTM codes - These are bits of text that are added to a link (URL) that give more information about browsing and therefore help to see where the traffic is coming from.

MANAGING YOUR COOKIE TECHNOLOGY PREFERENCES

You can change your web browser's settings to reflect your cookie preferences:
