If you notice bubbles while rolling out the paste, pop them with a pin right away (before you reach the desirable thickness).
If you pop the bubbles after reaching the proper thickness, you will end up with dents.
If you pop them before reaching the proper thickness (when the paste is still quite thick), you will be able to remove the dents by rolling out the paste more.
If you don't want the pin holes to be visible, pop them from the underside of the paste.
WHEN SMOOTHING THE CAKE
Sometimes after covering a cake with sugarpaste and during smoothing, you will notice bubbles (pockets of air between the cake and the paste). Pop them with a pin as soon as you see them.
