There are many types of adhesives that you can use in your sugar craft projects:
Which glue you choose depends on what you want to stick together. Below you'll find general tips. For more information, click on the links.
  • Edible glue is the most popular choice. It's used to:
    • stick pieces of sugar paste together
    • attach sticks and florist wires
    • attach decorations (f.ex. dragees) to the cake.
  • It will work only if at least one of the surfaces that you are trying to stick together is still soft (not dry).
  • Softened paste is quicker and easier to make in smaller batches, than royal icing.
  • Royal icing is easier to apply on larger surfaces (f.ex. with a palette knife). If you use a piping bag you can also apply it in a form of dots or thin lines.
