50 mm (or similar size) - This cutter needs to be similar size as the head.

Flower paste (gum paste)*:
yellow - 73 g
red - 4 g
black - 1 g

* You don’t have to use the same type of paste as me. If you decide to use sugarpaste (fondant) instead of flower paste (gum paste), make sure you add quite a lot of CMC (carboxymethyl cellulose) to it. It will make the paste thicker and speed-up the drying time. That way the body won’t sink under the weight of the head.

Roll out about 3 g of red flower paste to about 1 mm. Let the paste dry from both sides for a short while - it needs to hold the shape quite well (so that the circle doesn’t lose its shape) but can’t be too dry (so that you can wrap it around the body nicely). Use a 40 mm (or similar size) round cutter to cut out a circle.
