Make tunnels in the ears with a clean, dry wire (same #/gauge as the ones inserted in the head). The paste should be quite firm and hold the shape very well.
Be careful not to insert the wire too close to the sides otherwise it will show through the paste or poke through. If it’s impossible to insert the wire without it showing through it means that either the ear is too thin or the wire too thick.
