Sugarpaste (fondant) with CMC* or flower paste (gum paste) or a mix (1:1) of those two types of pastes or modelling paste**
Edible blue
Dust colours
lilac
yellow
light silver
white lustre
Clear alcohol (a few drops)
* I used a mix of sugarpaste and flower paste (1:1) with CMC to make the head, body, wings and ears. Keep on adding the CMC powder until you feel that the paste gets quite thick, but you can still roll a smooth ball. Add the CMC shortly before forming the parts. For all other parts I used flower paste.
** You'll find the amounts in the 'AMOUNTS' tab.

Roll out some grey paste to about 1 mm thick. Cut out a circle (I used a 26 mm cutter). If you don’t use corn flour or icing sugar underneath you will be able to stick the circle to the belly without using glue (the underside will be sticky). Be careful not to stretch the circle when peeling it off the board. Stick the circle to the belly. Smooth it gently. Use the dresden tool to make marks along the perimeter of the circle.
