styrofoam cake dummy (covered with cling film)
Sugarpaste (fondant)*
Flower paste (gum paste)*
50/50 flower paste / sugarpaste mix**
CMC***
Edible glue

*You'll find the amounts in the 'AMOUNTS' tab.
**50/50 mix = half/half = f.ex. 50 g of flower paste mixed with 50 g of sugarpaste
*** I added the CMC only to the black sugarpaste/flower paste mix. Keep on adding the CMC gradually, until the paste gets thick, but you can still roll a smooth ball. The body and the head need to be firm before you attach the head to the body. If they are too soft, they will start sinking.

Roll out some white paste to about 1-2 mm thick. Roll it out so that you will be able to cut out a strip that will go around the neck and two additional, shorter strips (ends of the scarf). Roll out some red paste very thin. Don’t use any corn flour or icing sugar underneath, so that the underside of the red strips is slightly wet, so that you don’t need to use glue.
Start cutting out little strips and sticking them on the white strip as shown in the photo. Press them to the paste gently to flatten them slightly, but be careful not to damage their shape.
Once the whole strip is covered with red strips, use a small rolling pin to roll the paste gently from the top (don't press too hard; you just want to press the red strips into the white paste slightly, so that they don't stick out). Move the rolling pin along the red strips (not the other way around).
