Easiest ever Mickey Mouse cake topper! :)

1.

Roll two 11 g balls of red and black flower paste (gum paste)*. Form teardrop shapes.

* You don’t have to use the same type of paste as me. If you decide to use sugarpaste (fondant) instead of flower paste (gum paste), make sure you add quite a lot of CMC (carboxymethyl cellulose) to it. It will make the paste thicker and speed-up the drying time. That way the body won’t sink under the weight of the head.

2.

Take the red teardrop and press the wide end to the board to create a flat bottom. That way the cake topper won’t lean to the sides.

3.

Do the same with the black teardrop. Let them both dry for some time. They need to be quite firm. That way they won’t lose the shape when cutting (see next step).
