Octopus

Height of the figure: 7 cm

Octopus

Equipment:

- Dresden tool
- Ball tool
- Scalpel
- Frilling stick (or cocktail stick)
- Brush (for gluing)
- Dusting brush (flat, medium)
- Nozzles – 5 mm and 2 mm
- Knife

Edibles:

- Flower paste:
94g light purple
4g white
1 g black
5 mm ball – blue
5 mm ball – dark purple

- Edible glue
- Dust colours – purple

Step 1

Octopus

Roll a 1 g ball of purple flower paste. Flatten it to create a disc. You will stick the legs to it.
Roll six 8 g balls of purple flower paste. Use them to form eight arms - sausages that taper towards both ends (like the one in the photo). Roll the narrow ends into a spiral. Stick the legs to the disc as shown in the photo.
I recommend to work with one leg at a time so that the elements don't dry. If they dry too much you will get cracks and wrinkles when forming the spiral.

Step 2

Octopus

Make sure all legs are well attached to the disc.

Step 3

Octopus

Roll a 45 g ball of purple flower paste. Form a slightly flattened egg shape. Use a ball tool to make holes for the eyes and a dresden tool to make a hole for the mouth.

Step 4

Octopus

Roll two 7 mm balls of white flower paste and stick them in the previously created holes.
Roll a 2 mm ball of black flower paste and stick it in the mouth. Use a scalpel to make shallow cuts (create a smile as shown in the photo).

Step 5

Octopus

Roll out (very thin) a small piece of black flower paste and a piece of white flower piece. Cut out two, black circles using a 5 mm nozzle and two, white circles using a 2 mm nozzle.
I recommend leaving the rolled out flower paste to dry for a moment before cutting out the circles.
Make tiny sausages for the eyebrows.

Step 6

Octopus

Stick the head to the legs as shown in the photo.
Roll a 2 g ball of white flower paste and stick it on the head.
Roll out 1 g of white flower paste to 1 mm thick. Cut a 5,5 cm long and 5 mm wide strip.

Step 7

Octopus

Wrap the white strip around the ball. Trim it if necessary.
Roll out the blue flower paste very thin. After leaving it to dry for a bit, use a knife to cut a 5,5 mm long and 1 mm wide strip. Wrap it around the white strip. Remember to use as least amount of glue as possible. Trim it if necessary.

Step 8

Octopus

Roll various sized, tiny balls of dark purple flower paste and stick them on the head.
Roll tiny balls of white flower paste and stick them to the bottom part of the legs. Use a frilling stick (or cocktail stick) to make holes in them as shown in the photo.

Step 9

Octopus

Dust the figure a little. I used purple dust for the bottom of the legs and to make the edge of the hat show more :)
