This figure is 14 cm tall (height of monkey + rocks). Amounts of fondant/gumpaste you will need: 100 g - light green (to cover cake board; if you are using one), 120 g - 3 shades of grey mixed together, 260 g - brown, 10g - ivory/light brown, 1 cm ball - white, 5 mm ball - black, 12g - yellow, 14 g - green.
To make the rocks you will need 120 g of grey fondant/gumpaste. I made the rocks the same way as in Mermaid Tutorial - http://crumbavenue.com/tutorials/mermaid
If you are going to place the figure on a cake, it will be best if you make the figure on a dummy.
Body - 18 g
If I were to make the figure for a cake, I wouldn't trim the skewer. It's best if the skewer reaches the bottom board of the cake.
Roll out 2 grams of ivory/light brown fondant/gumpaste to 1 mm thick, cut out a teardrop shape and stick to the body. Keep the leftovers.
I used a bone tool to mark places where I will attach legs, arms and tail.
The head is a flattened oval. - 90 g.
Muzzle - 6 g
Each ear - 4 g.
The inside of ears - two 5 mm balls.
Each leg - 2 g.
Each foot - 3 g.
I used a bone tool to mark the places where the legs and feet attach (back of foot; the side of foot that you can't see on the pic).
Each arm - 4 g.
Tail - 6 g.
Hair - 3 teardrops formed out of 5 mm ball.
Bottom of feet - two 3 mm balls.
Each banana - 4 grams. I made 3 bananas.
Leaves - 14 g
Roll the fondant to about 4 mm thick and cut out 3 leaf shapes. Flatten the edges and follow the instructions on the pic.
Sometimes I'm a little bit impatient ;) so instead of waiting for the leaves to dry I inserted a wire inside each leaf. I trimmed the wire so there was nothing sticking out.
If I were to make the figure for a cake I would let the leaves dry before sticking them on ;)
