If you have the Donkey Tutorial (https://www.etsy.com/listing/502721847/donkey-cake-topper-tutorial-with-horse) you can use the same templates to make this Cute Reindeer.
You can use the templates to make any horse-like animals :)
This tutorial is available in my Etsy Shop --> https://www.etsy.com/shop/CrumbAvenue
The templates will help you create elements of the correct size and shape. Just place the element on the template and look at it from above. If it’s formed correctly it will be the same as the printed shape.
I made the line on the muzzle with a scalpel.
Nose - 7 mm ball --> oval.
The ears are made the same way as the horse's and unicorn's ears.
The tail: 10 mm ball --> teardrop shape.
The bell collar: roll out some red flower paste to about 1 mm thick. Leave it to dry for a few minutes. Cut a 4-5 mm wide strip. You might find it easier to dust the strip at this stage, rather than dust it once it's wrapped around the neck. Stick the collar around the reindeer's neck (if the strip is floppy, leave it to dry for a few more minutes before sticking it on; it needs to hold the shape well). Trim the ends so that hey join neatly at the back. Stick small yellow balls on the collar.
To make the antlers roll two 1 g balls of dark brown flower paste (gum paste). Form tapering towards one end sausages. Flatten them slightly (flatten the wider part more than the narrower part). Use the fine end of the dresden tool to make indentations as shown in the photo. Gradually keep on deepening the lines and rounding the antlers.
Leave the antlers to dry for a few minutes (or longer; they need to hold the shape well). Cut the base of the antlers off. Insert pieces of wire (#22 or #24) so that they reach about 1/2 of the length. Make holes in the head with a spare piece of wire (same thickness), apply some glue on the antler wires and on the base of the antlers and attach the them to the head.
Once the topper is dry, dust it :)
